Reimagination of the Day: In his ongoing poster series “Movies from an Alternate Universe,” illustrator Peter Stults imagines what it might look like if modern-day movies were made during previous Hollywood eras. “Who would be in it? Who would direct it? So here we are.”

I had always heard your entire life flashes in front of your eyes the second before you die. First of all, that one second isn’t a second at all, it stretches on forever, like an ocean of time. For me, it was lying on my back at Boy Scout camp watching falling stars…and yellow leaves, from the maple trees, that lined our street…or my grandmother’s hands, and the way her skin seemed like paper…and the first time I saw my cousin Tony’s brand new Firebird…and Janie…and Janie…and…Carolyn. I guess I could be pretty pissed off about what happened to me…but it’s hard to stay mad, when there’s so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I’m seeing it all at once, and it’s too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that’s about to burst. And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can’t feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life. You have no idea what I’m talking about, I’m sure. But don’t worry…you will someday.

As a Mexican architect-to-be, it is about time I show you some of the most important projects completed and in progress going on around the country. It had been quite a long time since the latest great architectural works were completed, mainly because of the recession. However there’s a new generation of young architects who are interested in finding a new style that characterizes our nation. Some of the most promising ones are PRODUCTORA, SLOT, BNKR. In addition to the already classic mexican architects, such as Legorreta + Legorreta and Bernardo Gómez Pimienta this appears to be quite an interesting period in the cultural development of this country.

This post is a follow-up of the last one I wrote, about Salone del Mobile in Milan. This time, I’d like to share a few images of the furniture and spaces created by renown fashion designers. The red couch is Versace, the living room is from Armani Casa new collection, the “Nature Chair” is by Dsquared2. Finally, the leather and fabric sculpture is a work by Fendi and the dots and lines kitchen is a window display by Moschino.

Salone del Mobile Internazionale is probably one of the best opportunities to check out the new trends or styles concerning product and furniture design. It is organized every April in Milan, since 1961. Some of the highlights of this year’s edition (according to me, obvi) are the Moleskine city bags, the “Tripod” lamp by Lukas Dahlén, “Swedish Love Stories” by Tengbom & Gemla, the Hermès Pavillion by Shigeru Ban and Philippe’s Starck collab with Baccarat.

Irina Werning is a phototgrapher who had the idea of reproducing portraits of random people several years after they were shot. The series are called Back to the future and I found them really beautiful and nostalgic in a way. I hope you like them.
